Located in the heart of Methven, the new facilities provide an exceptional venue for conferences, functions and events.

The town is well serviced with excellent restaurants and a wide array of accommodation options in close proximity.

Set amidst the Canterbury Plains with a backdrop of the High Country and Southern Alps, there are myriad opportunities for visitors to enjoy the outdoor activities on offer in close proximity from jet boating to skiing to visiting a working farm.

Conference and Event Facilities

Mt Hutt Memorial Hall
The newly re-furbished auditorium seats 435 people theatre style (335 below and 100 in the gallery above). This is an impressive hall with proscenium stage, and the capacity for full theatre lighting.

Function Room
Seats 180 people. This space is attached to the hall on one side, so can work in tandem with the Hall or on its own. Attractive bi-fold doors lead onto the community functions lawn, which is a garden area suitable for a 10 x 15 metre marquee. This is ideal for weddings or other functions that require an outdoor space that is able to be enclosed. Three phase power is available and parking for a catering truck adjacent if required.

Board Room
Seats 25 people theatre style or 15 board room style. This room is multifunctional and can be used as both a smaller meeting or functions room, or a green room/dressing room for theatrical shows. It comes equipped with kitchen bench, shower and toilet, and can be linked to the Function Room via bi-fold doors.

Art Gallery
The Art Gallery hosts exhibitions by local and Canterbury artists. This area provides a sophisticated backdrop for pre-dinner drinks.

Theatrette
The new 70 seat theatrette is a superb space for special presentations or break-out groups.

Methven Heritage Cafe
Seats 40 people. The Heritage Cafe provides delicious, nutritious food sourced from the food- bowl of Canterbury. Open seven days, the Heritage Cafe can also cater for small groups using the Conference facilities.

Methven i-SITE
Friendly, professional staff operate the Methven i-site which is based within the Heritage Centre. They will be pleased to assist with accommodation and activity bookings within the area and have a vast local knowledge. This service provides an important information resource for visitors and conference attendees.
